Both. It'll run rich at low rpm & lean at high rpm. Good way to burn valves.

If thats the case, If you disconnect the oxygen sensor and ground it to the chassis, the ECU will think that the car is running really lean, and will try to richen the mixture. At the other extreme, if you disconnect the oxygen sensor, and replace it with a small AA battery that supplies 1.5 volts, the ECU will think that the car is running really rich and attempt to adjust the mixture to be leaner.

Have you put the stock airbox & piping back on? If so, follow the piping back to the engine & there is a little tube that connects to an air sensor, this needs to be connected otherwise your car will run like a Hyundai Excel

it is a part of the stocko air piping, you'll see it if you take it off, it sticks out the side of the main pipe

Hope your not talking about the PCV valve pipe? if u are lol.

O2 is on the exhaust anyway. has to be how elese would it measure the mixture.

Probably not the best idea to give advice if you dont know what it is or "what its called"

The O2 sensor is located just after to two exhaust manifolds join and before the Cat converter.

The bit your talking about is the PCV valve. you can vent it to Atmo wth a filter or wack on a catch can. The PCV is a one way valve. The car would run like sh*t if u had a vacume leak. I had mine vented to Atmo and no dramas for ages.

At least I'm offering advice which is more than I can say for you..

he can choose whether to take my advice or not, I'm just saying what has caused similar problems for me & how I fixed it
...besides, I don't see it making any difference if he checks it & it isn't whats causing the problem, takes all of about 30 seconds to look at it.

If you ever had anything helpful to say I might actually take it on board, but until I see you adding something constructive to the forums instead of talking out of your ass I'm not gonna take you seriously..

Considering he was asking about the O2 sensor and you told him it was in the intake I pretty sure your the one talking out your arse.

i.e

Since he's put the stocko air box back on it would make sense to me that what I suggested might fix his problem, even if it is just the breather then its not really going to hurt whether its plugged into the intake or not..
