New globe or new light? I have no low beams :<

Last night after starting the car and moving off I noticed I don't have any low beams in the right side (drivers) headlight. I have full beams no problem so I assume that its a blown globe. What do I do from here, can I simply take it to an auto elec's and he'll replace it or is there something more involved like having to go an entirely new light. (Which I kind of want to do as its cloudy)

Also worrying is if I drive it at night, is having a blown globe a defectable offence? Thanks guys.

You should be able to unscrew the globe from the back of the light and take it in to any auto shop to get replaced. As to the milky lens, just use a bit of car polish on the top and a little elbow grease (or car polisher). That should clear it up again.

As for the defect though? My sleep schedule is kinda broken at the moment and I'm waking up at 4pm each day so I'm particularly interested about it being a defectable offence with me driving basically at night all the time

if the cops get you on the side of the road just tell them its just gone out and you are going to replace it tomorrow
the amount of cars that are driving around with only one light on the car well I lost count lol

When I got my FTO in 1999 took me a month to source a new 9006, no one had them or even seen them before.

Whats the 9006? Light code or something?

HB4 is a 9006, 9005 for the low beams.

It was so frustriating I at least tried calling 50-100 places. I even resorted to pulling the old globe out of the plastic part of bulb and shouving in a H1 i think.

I know repco and autobarn have the HB4 bulb, thats for the low beam and then HB3 is the high beam I think.
