Your turn to help me! Dumb problem!

Post by payaya »

Hey all!

My central locking has been screwed for years now. Its not the common problem of the actuator going as both actuators went at the same time!!

I tried new ones does nothing! What the hell is wrong with it? Im got another central locking ECU did not help! What the hell should I check to get the damn thing working again? A lose wire could be a possibility.

Which wire should I check? Im guessing the ones from the alarm to the ECU???

My alarm doesnt go off too when I open the door when the car doors open.

Help! I hate electrics!

By central locking ecu- do you mean the blue one under the steering column?

Unless you want to spend hours trouble shooting I would suggest taking it to an auto elec - they should be able to find the fault pretty quicky.

I dont think it is too complex a circuit.

yeah its kinda hard over a forum...

alarm never worked? does it go on? the depending on the wiring its all a bit of a mess under there.

Lets trace it back...Page 121-123 FTO Electrical wiring diagrams.

Need to know a bit more about whats going on:

a. Does central locking work with the key only (when u open drivers side)?
b. does remote work at all? is the battery in the keyless bit flat (maybe obvious)

start form there..
