Door Ajar Switch

I have an annoyingly and unusual problem concerning my door ajar switch.

It only occured after the car was being professional cleaned, hopped back into the car, drove off, only to find that of the 2 doors the car has, none of them are open, yet the door ajar light says otherwise.

Now, I have removed the rubber covers, and tested the door switches for continuity, and they come up peachy keen.
I cannot find the error.

None of the cars fuses are blown, looked at all those in both the fuse both near the acc pedal, and the engine bay relay box.

There is voltage of about i think it was 1.5V (uncomfirmed) from the passenger side switch, this was easy to test, as it an exposed metal clip. and the switch is doing something voltage signal wise, so it's not the passenger side.

I noticed though the drivers side is like a dpst switch, but kind of an inline style, you can either hold to a point which is what the door does, or you can 'click it', unsure of this function yet, but looking through the cars factory manual, it does show a 0---0---0 style of read out.....

Could I simply have a malfunctioning drivers side switch?
Can this problem be solved like simply disconnecting the battery and reconnecting (prob not)

Is this a common issue? Can't find any other posts on it.

Forgive me for this reply...

1.) The cleaners may have switched the door lights from "Turn on when door is opened" to "Always on"
2.) It could be the bonnet ... it is considered as a door, open it up, close it firmly & secure into place...
3.) Could also be the door ajar switch for the boot..
4.) the doors might not be pressing the door ajar switch properly ... you can check by pressing the switch in manually while the door is open ... get someone else to do the same for the other door
5.) Hopefully the cleaners haven't gotten water in near any of the wiring...

Other than that.. I am not sure what else could be causing it... if its wiring, you may need to take it to an auto electrician... Not sure how long it would take to run down your battery... might need to find the fuse for it & pull it out for now... hopefully it only controls the interior door ajar lights...

ok, in reply to the above.

I don't keep the interior light on, I only ever used the lights from the mirror for entry.

Havent checked the bonnet, but never seen a switch in there, plus i have opened and reclosed it securely.

Boot switch is not connected like a wagon to the interior lights, it is only for control of the boot light which is opperational.

door ajar switches have been manually depressed incase doors were suddenly now not closing properly, and this still doesnt fix the error.

yeah, im thinking an auto elecy might be the way

bit annoying to pay 70$ for a good wash and prob now have to pay something like 150 for an elecy to muck with the car and replace something or other.

ty anyway, i'll keep y'all posted.

if anyone else has any other thoughts please post up.

Boot switch is connected to the interior lights, or it should be anyways.

when I got my car back from the painters they hadn't replaced the door pillar catch in quite the right place and the door wouldn't quite switch the interior lights off so the dash light stayed on. That was when I realised my door was on slightly squint

Hopefully though your cleaners haven't had the doors off when cleaning it!
