how heavy is it? available for inspection? can the lock be installed into it and operate properly or will it need lockpins to secure it?

Wouldn't water leak into this with that vent in the middle ?

Does it require spray painting ?

Not really sure about the exact weight, but it's not that heavy at all because of the material. One person can easily lift it. The lock can be installed, but I haven't personally tried to installed the lock, but when I ordered it, it was customized and designed according to FTO's original boot lid. I'll post another picture for you to show you the place to install the lock. You won't need lockpins.

The water won't leak through the vent.
The part has not been painted, so you can painted the part according to your car's colour.

The part is brand new, and has never been used.

glad to see my stuff still floating around. u can fit a lock easy except it will only open from the latch near the drivers seat. the vents are "cosmetic" so no water will go in. we created it out of my boot lid and i drove around with it for a few days as well.

I'm not THAT keen on it... $400 is a lot... when i got quoted for a CF one for $600...

BUt it is reasonable...

And doesnt the vents just hold water???

They're not vents! Vents have a function of directing air somewhere, this bootlid doesnt even have holes. Its just for looks. Water evaporates anyway, its not like fibreglass is going to rust

I don't think that it'd be too much of a problem with water pooling up in it..

The most that would happen is that it would affect the paint if its left in there for a while .. & if you're going to be keeping it out in the rain you could put a cover over it..

you can even just lift the boot lid & let it drain out if its got a lot of water in it..

what if you opened your boot after it had been raining....all the water that would be held in the "vents" would tip straight into your boot.

Water droplets on my boot run down into the drain/gutter at the base of where the boot opens from... I assume it'd do just that. However you'd want to open it slowly otherwise it'd overflow the little gutter
