the Tein's are coilovers and kings are springs that are a replasment to your factory springs.

Correct, hence the expensive nature of teins. If your looking for adjustability, go with the teins as they have lots of fun settings to try to get max performance in track settings.
If you just want to lower the car and still have better than stock suspension, go with the king springs with some kyb excel g shocks.

Yes i would say they are better for performance. Would cost around the $1500 mark for a set of 4. Don't forget that they are coilovers, and coilovers are usually expensive. But they're worth it.
Your cheaper option would be to go for the kyb excel g shocks and king springs, that'd cost around $800 - $1000 including fitting, aligning, etc

Youll also find the teins are QUITE stiff. Itll give you a hard ride even on the softer damper settings. If you have a lot of rough roads around where you drive, id be hesitant to go down that path (especially if they are Jpa spec as these will be especially hard)

Could always customise your coilovers, as in get the spring rates custom ordered with something comfortable.
Then the best of both worlds, nice ride quality and adjustability...

How did we go from lowering the car to coilovers?
As you all know, I am not an advocate of using coilovers on the road.
A set of King springs will cost you about $300 & drop the car 2 inches at the front & 1.5 at the rear. A number of people here use them without issue. The Tein springs will do the same but as mentioned they are substantially stiffer.

totally agree ^
I use kings with good shocks, bushes, camber bolt and braces car feels good enough for odd track days and not too stiff on the street
unless you plan on turning it into a monster track weapon i wouldnt bother with coilovers esp for everday use

Kings with KYB on my ride is already considered quite bumpy to me! Dont even consider coilovers unless its a project "track"

I have stock springs, KYB's & all bushes replaced with polyurethane & it's a bit harder, but still bearable for street driving..

Nah, Do what would be more comfortable for you/fits your budget. Got to say though, Ive never been in a fto that handled as well as mine the coilovers. If your willing to put up with their stiffness, they are AWESOME
