Yahoo auctions Japan has window tinting kits pre-cut for the FTO. All you need do is clean your window, and stick it on ...

Other then that, about $200 should get your windows tinted locally ... I have a friend that does it in NSW for about $175 ...
I just had to add it ......

Maybe you should revisit what you have said about the legal side, and not disclose the other details on a public forum ... :?:

i would consider cassf88's but does the police usually realise that your tint is too dark?

i just want a really really dark tint that no one can see inside and the cops wont be able to tell if its legal or not lol

so i guess tint-a-car would be the most appropriate for the midnight express?

as long as its not "pitch black" I dont think you will have to many problems.... A few of the 'commerical' tint places will also do a touch under legal, and there is no way you will get caught by the police for that...

Legal tint is 35% ... It by no means is dark .. So if you don't want people to see in you have to go darker...

Now the loop whole is that the laws did not crack down on car window tinting till late 96.. So if your car is before then "it was like that when I bought it officer" ...

The side windows (the passenger ones) I think can be a hell of a lot darker, as you can't see that much out of them anyway ... The rear can be a little darker also .. But check with your local RTA, or what ever you call your Roads & Traffic people...

Only way for a cop to fine you for the windows, is if they have the light reader and bounce it off the tint... Usually, cops don't carry this ... So you should be safe...

20% is a nice dark tint, and still lets you see when driving at night... Any darker means that you will have to have your window down to see out it.. The darkest I went on a hatch back was either 5-10% on the rear.. When driving at night, and there was no light behind you, you could not see out... The sides I had at 20%, and was still a little hard to see certain things at night...
I just had to add it ......

never been pulled over or questioned, you cant see into my car, especially at night n even in the city with all the bright lights...

the back n side windows can be as dark as u like, the drivers is meant to stay at the legal 35% if you go darker n go to a commercial place they wont give u a receipt because they can get in trouble...

obviously front window n sunroof (if u have one)stays untouched

just say hi,i was referred by someone who has had their car tinted by you n i was wondering if youre still doing it. i have an fto and looking to get all the windows tinted, dont say what grade you want done because u might change your mind when u catch up with him... just ask him what time you can go see him n take it from there.

Rock_it: not gonna get into it, i see where you come form, i dont agree with u.

I'd be more concerned that you posted his mobile number on the public side of the forum. Dont be surprised if a spambot or crawler passes overthat, logs the number, then your mate gets heaps of unsolicited spam sms's or calls. Change a few numbers with letters to be safe.

personally, i would not like someone to post my mobile and name up on a public forum and announce what i do, illegal or not, for all the world to see. why do you think, even with private instant message services, they tell you not to disclose private information, which includes mobiles?
Cassf88 wrote:

you seriously might want to rethink that statement...
