Getting my exhaust done soon and I have the option, what would be better to go for?
Im pretty much looking for something thats not stupidly loud, especially for under 3000rpm.
Also I know everyone will have an opinion but good tip size? Something that blends in well.

the 2 mufflers are going to be similar from what i see as both of them will be free flowing. for sound, the cannon is going to be louder but can be calmed down with a resonator or two.

As for your choices, coming from a cannon muffler, i would personally look into trying the muffler with dual outlets tips like the stock ones, either 2.5 or 3". cannons tend to make that open loud sound. try the varex mufflers, or magnaflow.

I've had both on an FTO, and I would never go with canon over sports ever again.

It's all personal opinion, and also how you set it up, but to me sports exhaust have that great combination of quiet around town and excellent sounding when you put your foot down

There is also a correlation in terms of sound quality and the quality of the muffler. Cheapy cannon mufflers are sh*t.

crappy canons sounds like farting.
try x-force with dual tip. sounds great and discreet.

the x-force varex remote control muffler is good not just a gimmick i had mine for 6 months and still use it daley.
plus a cannon muffler makes you look more like a street racer. here is some vid of mine

thanks guys i got it done at brisbane exhaust http://www.brisbane-exhaust.com.au/products.html as thay stock the varex id recomend you put a resonator upstream if you want to have it on its loud setting all the time.

yeah the varex is nice, i love mine, its pretty much 2 mufflers in one, straight through and chambered. has a nice deep rumble on back off

StraydoG - get the dual tips with one sticking out more than the other a little bit like the stock ones and slightly thicker sides

Oh ok, i thought it was a specific point in the catback.. but then since upstream means within the catback, i dont suppose there is something else on the other hand ?

i dont want to imagine downstream means that its in the downpipes

Changing from the exhaust subject, will an intake system help much for more responce and does it actually help fuel consumption very much? Just wondering if I am better to get a new air filter or a whole pod filter, piping, ducting etc.

yeah the air filter works in conjunction with an upgraded exhaust, and the other way around too. makes your car breathe better as experts here say. I heard that the best intake upgrade is a boxed pod filter with a cold air feed fromt he front bumper, then the intake pipe has to be changed altogether as the factory one is restrictive as we all know.. you can improvise something like a 76mm system from the throttle body to the filter. maybe a 90degree silicone elbow, straight stainless 3" pipe, and i think another 45degree silicone elbow and another small 3" pipe for the filter - if your lucky you might be able to use the existing airbox as an enclosure like member vipfto did if u use an same size HKS pod or same size other brand pod.

Get the UAS intake kit and make a CAI for it. There's a 8-10kw at the wheels gain (the stock intake pipe and filter setup is fairly restrictive especially for a high powered, low displacement N/A engine like the 6a12).

then again i bought the last set and john said ftoaus would have to have something like 10~15 ppl for them to start making them again as they're expensive to make
