Warn CV Joints?

This is gonna be my last thread here for a little bit...i promise (i hope):3. When i accelerate above 100kph, the car shudders a bit. Given that it's only during acceleration, I'd say it's the CV joints or engine mount and not just a wheel balance problem. I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to diagnose this so I can hit up some parts
So far this is the list of things I need to fix/replace
- Aircon Compressor
- Rotors + pads
- CV/engine mount????
- O2/Lambda sensor
Thanks guys!

I think it could be the engine mounts. The cv joints usually get a bit noisy when you turn and accelerate at the same time but i dont think they would make the car shudder when you accelerate.

Worn CV joints make noise when you turn your steering.
The shudders could be from shot mounts or worn bushes.

If you don't accelerate above 100, you'll be fine :p

I found out what was wrong with the ciggy lighter...there was NO fuse there. Whoever owned my car previously is such a spastic.

Okay, so assuming it's probably struts or mount, how can I tell if the mount is warn and needs replacing/ the struts. i.e. what visual inspection/tests can I do to localise the issue so i can resolve it. Cheers

Don't think you can check the engine mounts visually. The arm/holder is covering it.
As for struts/suspension, try Fulcrum suspensions for a free check.

Stef, instead of being A f**k head, post something constructive once in a while. You spammed this thread alone 3 f**king times, all the bloke is after is some answers.

You can check a few mounts visually without jacking up the car.

Are you in 4th when accelerating passed 100km/h? Try do the same in 3rd and see what happens. If the vibration stops, then you most likely can narrow it down to the gearbox.

Yup, not the gearbox..Just gonna start off small by getting a wheel balance tomoz and if that doesn't fix, work my way through the possibilities.

yeah i don't think it would be engine mounts as i remember having problem with them when i go from park to reverse and back etc so i don't think that would affect you at higher speeds.
I'm not sure but that's my opinion

Found the problem today while replacing the discs and pads. One of the rims has a giant buckle

for now i just got it counter balanced and moved to the back until I can afford some new rims.
