Re: How light have you got?
Last time I checked the car was at 1100kg's with a full tank.
Boot striped out C/F and F/G bits added and any thing I don't really need in the car taken out.

Re: How light have you got?
Oh that will be terrible, it wont fit over my front brakes, so if I get a front flat I gotta jack up the whole side of the car & move a rear to the front & throw the saver on the backaza013 wrote:Bennoz wrote:I like my sound system & the luxury of a spare tyrebass_twitch wrote:This ftwBennoz wrote:I was gonna do that, then just though 'f**k it' - I'll add more powerI can just see it now your car running around with a space saver on it

Re: How light have you got?
I don't think you'll be able to drop the weight so much to be honest, at least not white keeping it somewhat comfortable.
Had it been a race car I think it'd still be difficult to get 1,000kg.
To give you an idea though:
-You could get a lightweight battery. I have a 20kg optima yellow top which I plan to swap for a 10kg model
-Carbon hood/trunk will save you about 10kg and 5kg respectively
-Delete passenger seat, rear seats, unnecessary trim, around 30kg
-Lightweight fixed back driving seat with no adjustable rail, you'll save about 7kg
-Titanium exhaust, not sure for the weight saving
-Polycarbonate windows
-Power steering/AC delete
This is pretty expensive though and you'd still be heavier than a stock CRX or EG for sure.

Re: How light have you got?
There is 10kg's off the car on it's own with a C/F boot lid (I know that for sure), bonnet would be apron 15-20kg's. The AC unit and all plumbing comes to 10-15kg's, there is 20kg's in tools and space saver in the boot.
There is 45-65kg's in that alown.

Re: How light have you got?
Also keep in mind that you cannot do a lot of those modifications and still retain a reasonable bracket - because as soon you swap out glass windows, make a car unroadworthy or illegal etc, you get bumped up to the open bracket and would get slaughtered as the cars running that division have a lot more done to them than a few minor mods and weight reduction. So be careful what you do

The standard GPX bonnet weighs 16kgaza013 wrote: bonnet would be apron 15-20kg's.

The racecar currently weighs just under 1100kg with minimal fuel. That's with a full roll cage though, but just about everything else stripped out. There's probably another 20kg to come out in relatively easy stuff, including the drivers seat rails and all the sound deadener. From there it starts getting expensive

I reckon you could get to 1000kg without a roll cage. Could start getting expensive though.
