Help Please(About Tyres)

Hey guys
So look my FTO currently has 22 inch low profile tyres(I think), and what I think is happening is that the car was lowered, and now the Low Profile Tyres are rubbing against the guards everytime I turn a corner slightly harshly. I am pretty new at this sort of thing, but think the best thing for it would be to put some medium profile tyres onto it. I also hate the rims on my car, since the person that had it before put on these real shiny dinner plate rims. So if anyone could help me by telling me if it is a good idea or not, and if anyone does have a set of medium profile tyres please hit me up with a pm:)

22 inch wheels, are you sure??
If so pics please, I want to see how ridiculous it looks
To be honest, get some smaller wheels.
Higher profile tires would make things worse.
Check where it rubs, maybe your guards can be rolled, or a different offset would fix things etc.
But really, 22" will always have problems. Though I am getting the feeling you have confused the size of the wheels. You can check by what it says on the tire, the last number will be the size (first is width, second is profile ratio)

22 inch?? Are u driving a FTO truck?? Lolz. Prob 17-18 inch more like it. And yes mine rubs the guards as well. U can get the guards professionally rolled back if this problem pisses u off

I think your best bet would be to sell those massive heavy chrome dishplates to some lebs on Boost Cruising & go grab yourself a set of 17" Buddy Clubs or something

Yeah I agree. They are just making my car look to leb, which is really really depressing. Also the fact that they are rubbing against the guards doesn't really help much to me liking them.

If they are the right wheel and tyre combination, then the overall diameter of the wheels and tyres should be the same as any other FTO. If this is the case, then you have simply lowered your car too much.
If someone has put on bigger wheels and tyres, then yes, returning them to the standard size will probably resolve your issue. Measure the wheels, and provide the stats on the tyre, and we can work out if it is larger than it should be.

thought id hijack this thread

i just picked up a new set of wheels for my car. the old dinner plate chrome wheels had 2 different tyres on them on the front they were 215/40 and rear was 235/40 the car never scrubbed anywhere but the 215/40's that were on the front left a big gap from the tyre to the gard. my new wheels are 235/40 r18 all round fills the gards real nice but the tyre on the front touches the bottom of the spring hat or what ever its called. so what do i do? what tyres are you people running on your 18s?
