Car stalled got towed back to base.

Post by renzkuken1 »

So i drove to dinner lastnight and on the way back my car stalled. I couldn't restart it.
Battery is fine and it was turning over fine but it wouldn't ignite so it seems.
My car had been idling at 500rpm for the past week or so and has cut out before.
Does this sound like a fuel pump or spark plug problem or both?
Or any other suggestions? I had to get it towed back to base but luckily a tow truck parked in KFC i was stuck at when this happened and i asked him for a tow and he only charged me 50 bucks.

I am going to put the plates and rego sticker on my other fto till i get this one fixed. (Lucky they are the same coloout)

And help much appreciated!

Could be either. Leaning more to spark though.

for fuel pump, remove lower section of back seat, there will be a square black metal plate, with 4 screws, undo them, unplug power from pump, then loosen the pipe first, becareful, the sucker tends to want to bend, maybe spray some WD40 on the fitting, then undo the nuts? that hold it in place.

By looking at the pics it looks like your wheels are the source of the problem.

You need 2 spanners to undo the nut. You also need to go under the car & do the soft fuel line from the rail that goes to the front of the car, otherwise when you finally loosen the nut ontop of the tank, the fuel line will twist up as you undo it. It's all but impossible to do without un doing the bottom line.

Oh & I've got half a dozen pumps here if you want to save a few bucks. I'll be cheaper than Sydney Auto Dismantlers
