Idle not working on the speedo

Hi guys,

bought a FTO GR MT recently, one day when i was driving the car the RPM on the speedo drop suddenly then never work again,

i keep driving this car for more then 6 months without idle showing on speedo.

just want to know wt should i do or where should i start to work out??

Idle speed sensor? or something else? and where are the sensor located??

does it related with turning over the key??

not to sure what it does, or how it works, but if it it's not working properly, it can cause the Tacho not to work.
I believe dstocks can get them $50 I think?

This most likeely the prob it basically detects pulse from engine and send signal to Tacho, easy to replace just need part ;)

Thanks for yr help first, but i have no ideas which parts i should replace, dont know where to start to find out the problem was*

If it's the IFS, then it is to about here..


Excuse the horrid picture, it should be bolted to the engine, with a wiring loom connected to it.

If your ignition sensor has failed your car won't start?

Dead tacho is usually the IFS. It has happened to quite a few people here now, including me. The car started without any dramas for 2 years before I changed it over.

Yea my mates had his FTO for a year now, with a failed IFS, no tacho the whole time :lol:
Still hasn't replaced it yet....
