okay so managed to get the engine and gearbox out of the half cut today, but was a total mission, and we ended up cutting the upper gearbox mount bracket on the chassis cause we didnt need it,
still need to remove my engine and gearbox and replace it with the one from the front cut
so, whats the best and easiest way to remove the engine and gearbox, and then put it back into my car haha,

hmm, it's actually not that hard to get it in and out and back in again through the top, you need to get the angles right and you need the bonnet off but wasn't that hard, maybe an hours tops either way, and that's with only 2 people, me and the old man. As well as the engine crane you need a jack under the gearbox.

yeah, we had that,
maybe different lifting points,
what points on the engine and gearbox did you attach your crane too?

I always lift the car off the engine myself as I think its a lot easier, but im guessing you wont have the gear to make that happen

Do you use the tractor ?

Yep, sure do. Use the tractor to lower the engine onto the ground (leave everything attached to it, including X member ) and then just put the bucket under the tow point and lift. drag engine from under car, push new one under instead and lower car. Finally use tractor to lisf engine to the right height and do the bolts up again.
Hoist would be better though

Wow!!
So how do you get the car high enough for the engine to be draggable from under the engine bay? A really really good jack?

Tractor bucket works well. itll lift the bucket to 3m - you only need it to lift the front of the car 1m using the bucket though to get the engine out.
A hoist is even easier.

And + 1 on the drop under method, that's my preffered choice. Use the hoist to lower the motor down, then move the hoist onto the car & lift it up. Drag motor out. Lower car back down, use hoist to get engine onto stand. Wheel engine away
