Looking to buy an UAS intake kit (GPX). (well I want to replace the stock system, so ARC would be fine with me too )
Don't really want to spend $395 for a brand new UAS...if they still have in stock i.e

Your main problem if going to do a complete CAI kit is your stock piping in the front. As you have foggies as well on a facelift bar the options you have of running a less restrictive pipe are minimal. You cant go to the front bar without cutting a hole through it and theres no way around the radiator in the front really - and in front of the g/box might cause some water splashing issues?

Has anyone else done a proper piping job to the front with foggies on a facelift before? How did you run it?

I've got two 3" flexi pipes running from the mesh in front of the radiator up to my UAS box.

Those pipes running around the radiator? Interesting... I couldn't find any space between the grill/radiator... hmm might have to look into it again. Could you give some more details on your mod please?

There is a thin plastic shroud between the front bumper and radiator that needs to be removed.

Not many more details really, UAS kit and 4" K&N pod.

Also the thin plastic shroud, I wouldn't recommend removing this, just cut enough for the piping to go through.

This shroud directs air through the radiator and is very important in keeping your car running at correct temps.

Did you have to do any modifications to fit the 4" K&N on the UAS? Think the kit narrows down to a 3" filter? Also you can't have the 4" K&N inside the UAS box..can you?

Hmm will have a look at the thin plastic shroud tomorrow. Now...to source an UAS kit or make something similar with steel tubes.

Forgot to mention that I made a new shroud that the pipes fit through.

I just had to get a 4" stainless pipe to go from the UAS pipe to the pod, and yes the 4" K&N fits in the UAS box.

Hey vectose, do you have a 4-3" 90degree elbow reducer? Thinking about would seem as though thats the best way to speed up the air velocity right before the TB and is an off the shelf part from turbosmart etc.

I've got the UAS pipe.

And am guessing just the UAS pipe will be hard to get seconds?

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe using only 3" would be better?
It just seems that naturally all CAI kits would have 4" piping and a 4-3" reducer near the TB but for some reason most CAI setups are 2.75-3" all the way which makes me think maybe there is a reason for this?
