mitsubishi, $500 for a brand nee turret, any panel shop should be about 500 to fit and paint it, a bit less if u strip the inner trim etc out urself and put it back in urself

just how important structurally is the roof? would the majority of the stress be taken up by the sub frame or the skin?

Frame.
But unless you want an open top, you'll want the skin.

lol yeah fair call. I was just curious, because I've cut out the rust in mine. Was thinking of just fibreglassing it instead of welding.

I don't know many balls that far apart with a horizontally opposed penis....
The fiberglass is an ok TEMPORARY fix.
Take note, as the inner frames not being cleaned properly and fresh metal being under neath that fiberglass it will rust again and be worse.
The fiberglass is porous and will crack, allowing condensation to enter and rust the metal beneath.
Fine for now, but I wouldn't leave it longer than 12 months without a proper fix.
meanwhile, he did a decent job...

Hope you cut the rust out. Otherwise itll be back. The FTO I had that had the rust in it took 2 takes to get rid of the rust. First time they just filled it and it was back in 2 months. 2nd time they welded it and thatdid the trick.

Lol well he ground out as much as he could then used fiberglass bog to fill it because he said it's semi water proof and he used some stuff that is supposed to be really water resistant or something on the inside he said it will stop more moisture getting back in but he said it's only temporary as it will probably bubble back through in couple of years

sorry to keep hijacking the thread,
has anyone else done this before (fibreglass/bog the roof)? Can anyone tell me how this will hold up? i.e. once resprayed, will the paint eventually crack at the joints etc?
