5 speed gear box cv shaft issue

Post by MOR31 »

so i have my 6a13tt bolted to a fto 5 speed box with lsd, when i put it all together i noticed the gearbox leaking, thinking it was the seal, replaced that to find it leaked straight out again.it sitting like this

managed to get my hands on another, thanks to TAZ.

this is the one i borrowed, its to thick to even fit into the box so its obviously not the one i need. its almost as if it need to be 10mm shorter in between the slpines and where the seal sits

this is the one i have, it fits in and locks in perfect but still sits out away from the seal

Yep this is the same problem as the guy from the Netherlands was having. You need the right driveshaft end (and currently you dont have it). Check this thread out for more info:

Just going on a bit of deduction however.
Taz had a vr which had LSD, therefore the shaft he gave morel should be correct.

    So... What's the go there.

From memory the LSD were a stumpy shaft compared to the open diff...

Cheers. That thread ended a little weird.

Any one got some part numbers for the cup or even the whole shaft?

    Its finally been sorted!

went to a cv joint, managed to get the right cv BORROWED (as the guy didnt want to sell his only one!??) and took that to panelhouse in slacks creek (the same place he went to a week before that said they didnt have any) and wouldnt you know it, showed up with the reference - boss comes out and says yea - should have one of them.
an hour later the shaft was cleaned up and in the car - ready for a nice drive home 8)

And Bennoz....i must say - this thing is stupidly fast much like your red rocket. Would give it a good match at least

wow ! good to see that this issue has been resolved 8O . i have replaced my LSD 4speed gearbox by a non-LSD 4 speed and running like new! i'm going to take the LSD out of the box so if anyone is interested.
if it doesn't brake just hit the gas
