Help

Post by Jase726 »

3rd to 2nd at speed in my tip is nice and smooth. At slow speeds I'm getting a clunk. Is it transmission or shaft related. Thanks in advance.

Hows your auto transmission fluid looking? Replaced recently or old and crappy?

To be completely honest I haven't checked for a while. I'll have a look at the DIY section and give it a service. It's been almost 50k since my major service.

Just check using the dipstick. It's on the passenger side of the engine bay kinda under your air filter.

Actually, if you havent changed it in a while, do it. Is often the cause of a clunky tip box.

So I had the tip hooked up and flushed. Oil and filter change resulting in super smooth shifts. It did cost $250 though. Not sure if this was expensive for the particular procedure but it did the trick.

Proper mechanic flush is the way to go.

Hmmm, while transmission fluid is expensive, I wouldnt have said it should have cost you that much. At leat it fixed the problem though.
