Poor Fuel Economy

So I am getting about 350-400KM when the car hits E, when it is on E though I can usually fill it with about 10L of fuel, isn't it a 60L tank?

I also get a serious smell of fuel when I put the foot down.

Anything I can do to improve it, replace O2 sensor?

If it's on the E and your filling up, & it only takes 10L to fill here back up to full, then you have a faulty fkn sender or gauge lol

& also a sh*t load of fuel still in the tank

Maybe I worded it badly, but I will fully fill it up, reset the trip counter and I will get about 350-400KM before the gauge is on E again. When I go to fill it up at this point the car takes in about 45-50L of fuel, meaning there was still 10L left.

Ohhhhh.

Um yeah, could be a number of things causing to run rich. Check plugs.
Could be faulty O2 sensor. If u can smell fuel I'm guessing u Have checked for a leak in lines and around filter area? Has the filter been changed recently ?

I have not checked the filter or changed it, will give it a look, I can't see anything visible leaking near it though.

You mean check spark plugs ye?

I'd start with changing fuel filter & the ECU temp sender

Its a sports car, if you are worried about fuel usage then you picked the wrong car
But yes you should be getting anywhere from 450-650K's to a tank. Pending on how you drive it.

i saw it was rated at 9.5 L per 100ks which is fine, beats pretty much all other v6s ive seen. but when it comes to driving seems to be worse than that

Start simple (cheap). A dirty air filter can make a huge difference.

im guessing it could be the fuel filter too, but yeah worth changing the air filter, it came with a pod filter and its pretty dirty...

Yep, hitting 450 would be good. Filled up today when it just hit E and I filled it with f**king 17L, the car had just hit 380KM so perhaps it isn't as bad as I think, I will give the car a solid drive soon and check the filter.

The gold part of the fuel insertion point (wtf is this called???) sometimes falls out, could it not being sealed properly reduce fuel economy?

Just because it hit the E doesn't mean the entire 60l (or whatever it's supposed to be) is gone lol try driving it until the light comes on, then keep driving it as far as u can with the light on lol you'll be surprised how much fuel is actually left in there. Filling up and saying I'm 17l short, just means the last time u filled up it was a little less full ...

Fill up fuel tank until full, fill a Jerry can with 5L, drive till it dies = true km reading

Don't do that.. muppets. Fill up to as full as you can get it. Drive it around until you're near empty then fill it up to as full as you can get it again then compare liters you filled up to distance travelled.
