Just thought I'd switch on the air con today, and it's blowing out hot air even on the lowest setting, does it need re-gassing
checked the sightglass can't see any bubbles
checked the valves on the pipes under the light blue caps, and there's a hissing sound, so I assume that means there's gas in the system.
also the revs don't seem to increase as they did, when I switch the AC on
Any ideas
Thanks in advance.

air con pump? the clutch had seized in mine and the belt was just running round the pully, -smoke n sh*t- turn the air con on then look under the car and see if the belt is pulluing the air con motor pully around or whether its just free wheeling on it (you will have to look at the end of it to see if its locked or just free wheeling)
new pump - $189 + gst
new fan belt - bout 20 bux
if you do have to replace the pump, you will need to empty all the gas out of that valve that u checked (yes it f**king stinks) otherwise your likely to have a big kaboom when you go to take the pump off, not a big job.
Yeah sounds like the clutch in the pump. Sometimes they just go quiety into the night - othertimes they seize up like Schumies. I've tried to have the clutch replaced but it was easier to replace the whole unit.
Relay and fuse for the A/C then check if you have power at the A/C pump.
If yes then its the clutch if no then have a look at the high pressure switch, all modern cars have a safety system if there isn't enough gas in the A/C the pump will not work as it needs gas to lubricate the compressor.
On this subject.. my air con won't heat up.. it goes nice and cold but it doesnt go nice and hot for the winter time.. whats the deal with my weirdo car??
There is a little servo that connects to the heater matrix unit that opens/closes the vent to allow heat to come from the matrix to the car....this may be gone, easy to check...if u can get under near the drivers foot well and look for the servo moving when you turn the temp up / down...
yeah that one took me ages to work out...i even pulled the dash and still did not think to look at that...even after unplugging the thing and all.....cost me $20 to replace from a wreckers for the whole unit which came with both servos....
Start the car turn on the fan and turn on the A/C then disconnect the wire coming into the A/C pump and test it to see if it's getting 12V if not then look at regassing the A/C or having a look for the relay.
