Here's a comment I received back when asking about engineering approval of the conversion.
I did notice that it wasn't published with the other comments on ebay.
Cheers
Chris
Surely that can't be true?engineers approval here in melbourne is non-existent anymore. As long as you have a RWC registering it would be easy and done like that.

Thats a big call, since you got it in black & white, his going to be in deep sh*t if you take that to VicRoad.
Every major modification need engineer approval. If not all the Jap car importers will just ship all the imports to Melbourne and save themselve a crap load of money.
This P Plate think he can make a big bucks cause he got it for $12k and relies now there are lots of work to be done on the car inorder to run properly. Why else the dealer would offload it so cheap on ebay.
The dealer totally fu*k up the car after it went to their hands and now this idiot just cut and paste the information from here and pretend he knows what he talking about.
Ask that dumb cu*t where he got the Exedy Hyper single plate heavy duty clutch with lightened & balanced flywheel from. As i'm the one who got the contact to supply the original owner. And see how much sh*t this cu*t can spin.

I asked him too with no reply...anyway he's full of sh*t :
A quote from the Vic EPA modified car rules, Feb 2006
A quote from the Vic EPA modified car rules, Feb 2006
4. Turbochargers/superchargers
Turbocharging or supercharging an engine has the potential to increase the power of the engine. Designing a system that meets the ADR is a complex process. A poorly designed or fitted system will significantly increase exhaust emissions, increase fuel consumption and reduce engine life. An emission-controlled engine may be turbocharged or supercharged only if: the conversion is unconditionally endorsed in writing by the vehicle manufacturer as being ADR compliant
or
the type conversion has ADR certification
or
the converted vehicle is in all respects identical to the production turbocharged/supercharged vehicle.
The onus is on the fitter of the turbocharger/supercharger and the owner of the vehicle to meet the above conditions. See also 1. Intake systems above regarding intercoolers.

He sold the car to one of the noobs dealer at a bargain price who have no idea about any parts in it, so let alone knowing anything about a certificate.khunjeng wrote:he said needs some more stuff and shouldn't b an issue. But it needs one.EURO wrote:not sure if this has been answered but why didnt mikey get an engineer certificate at the time? and can't craig @ revzone who did the work produce a certificate ?
The only reason why he sold it for a peanut is because he replace the turbo ring for a ring on a female finger

so how much more work is needed and how much does the certificate cost? could still be a bargain if you got it on road for 17 or so?FTO338 wrote:He sold the car to one of the noobs dealer at a bargain price who have no idea about any parts in it, so let alone knowing anything about a certificate.khunjeng wrote:he said needs some more stuff and shouldn't b an issue. $17k? That kid's reserve is $20k so you might be looking around $25k. Add a few more K & you can pick yourself a R33 GTR. And there is not a hope mikey's old car can beat a stock GTR.

I think he bought it either to show off to his mate or rack a profit. Either way this kid is clueless
Of course FTO does look nicer, but you think people who after a turbo car really after the look?

FWD & RWD both require skills to drive it hard.
Is the AWD that don't need skills, i can put my 15yrs old cousin in a Rexie, EVO or a GTR & he can put us to shame if we "having a go" with him in a FWD or RWD
