What are they called???

Post by Nacho »

Just out of curiosity......what are those gentlemen places called where the rich and powerful go and have brandy and cigars and stuff? Usually have to be wearing a suit to get in there as well.

Know any in Melbourne?

No strippers involved or topless waitresses or anything like that. I thought they were called Gentlemen's clubs but I can't seem to find anything on the yellow pages or the internet actually.

See if you can find anything by searching the net?

I tried things like rich and powerful club, wealthy club, cigar brandy club and got back jack sh*t.

Could always start you're own. Bar. Snooker/Pool tables. Leather armchairs. FTO owners get membership discount... :)

That because they are usually invite only, so why would they advertise it? Why do you want to know anyway?

The other one which some of you guys in Melbourne might already know is on the 29th floor of Crown Tower, its called the Crystal Club.

Do you need special access to get only the 29th floor at Crown Towers? I'm a regular there!

How are you supposed to get personally invited if you can't attend the events unless you're a member? :?

That Riff Raff Club looks pretty lame. They're all old and ugly!

I was thinking more so of exclusive bars/venues in Melbourne. I know of one where the Premier of VIC goes and people like that but I can't remember what it's called.

If you not a Mahogany room's member, you won't even consider to be invited to the Crystal Club, plus you need to be either very well off or a celebrity. I've seen people lost 3 millions in one bet in there and the lowest table there is minium $10k bet.

Because they invite you to become a member and of course you have to meet their requirements at the first place.

Not a regular, I just know someone who use to able to get me into Mahogany Room and Crystal Club.

The one on Collins St is called the Melbourne Club. Heres a pic of it front, the green door at the bottom right is the entrance.

You know I told you guys about my junky friend, that currently training to be a commercial pilot, and that we made him sniff lines of plaster,
He was a big time gambler as well,
The funny part is that he was a very poor guy, literally counting the cents, however, he was a member of Mahogany Room as well.
Never figured out how he did it.
Crown knew him very well though, and it looked like he was a well respected customer
