Mine has lasted 12 months so far. *Touch wood*
Although my rust wasn't as bad as Shenals'.
I sanded away the rust, painted the metal inside and out with good quality rust converter (left it for 3 days to cure), filled my holes with "Selleys Nead-It Metal" (left it to cure), used auto bog on top of that, sanded and painted.
