Toy R1R, yea.
Rotors, will keep an eye on em Shane.
No vid/sound clip, it is NOT YET RUNNING!
Anyone wanna donate a good clutch slave to the cause..?
Airbox is done. Needs some paint though.
Couple little bits to finish off, then hope to get in in for set up and tune.

Re: MIVEC V6 into..... 1997 S1 Lotus Elise
So today, managed some paint and fit airbox..
Dash..
Front quarter pic..
Need a working air compressor to bleed clutch..
Still need to fit IAT sensor to airbox.
Need air filter (think I will use a PX EVO)
Take 3 of the 4 tabs off the sync (cam) wheel.
Source/fit cat converter.
Fit and set headlamps/indicators, etc.

Looking very nice!
I like the intake, very clean looking
Should be very nice to hear running, I can imagine many people wouldn't expect to see that engine in there!

Re: MIVEC V6 into..... 1997 S1 Lotus Elise
Need to sleeve the clutch slave down from 20.68mm to 15.46mm to maintain a working ratio with the master.
To be honest, I just want the damn thing running now.
Been many headaches, long time.. But will be worth it.
Most Elise motor swaps are to Honda K20. So yeah, will surprise more than a few.
But, I always do things my way.

How do you expect it to compete against K20 swapped cars, both in handling and acceleration?

Re: MIVEC V6 into..... 1997 S1 Lotus Elise
Clutch shop says both slaves are so close in spec, should be fine.
So, I need to apply a little more time, effort, and differing approach to get this damned clutch bled and operating.
IAT sensor fitted.
Compete against the K20?
No expectations.
Similar output (factory quoted) and if I supercharge, well, should be able to make around 300hp or so at the flywheel. The K20 makes up to 360hp (charged) depending on set up.
Unsure as to weight.
Handling?
Remember, the poms STILL use imperial, so with that in mind, factory spring rates are 325lb fr, 400lb rr. Quantum are 500lb/750lb. So should make up for weight, and be nice and flat thru the turns.

The K20 equipped cards use the 6 speed short ratio Honda gearbox too?
I think you'll find the ratios for the MIVEC are a bit long and really hamper acceleration

Re: MIVEC V6 into..... 1997 S1 Lotus Elise
Well, this is certainly taking time..
Plenty other stuff been happening otherwise, though.
Air filter, etc..
Engine cover needed a trim..
Lights mounted, aimed..
New cat has been sourced and installed.
Few more little things, to do with lights, etc, before I will be looking for the initial mapping.
Hopefully very soon.
