so it shudders at low revs? like its gonna stall?

it wouldnt be brakes if it happens when your accelerating.. and worn tires wouldnt make your car shudder like that..

probably somethin to do with your gearbox i reckon.. go get it checked out sounds pretty bad

a stuffed stepper motor causes rough idle...

and you have problems with starting the car up sometimes...

Also check your alternator.

Well have a look at this thread, it should give you a better idea, stepper motor are very easy to replace and pretty cheap to get too.

u can try spray it with wd40 and give it a wipe... or you can just turn the idle up on it...

I could be wrong but If you put it in neutral and the shaking goes away, I'm thinking it would be a transmission problem. The stepper motor does cause rough idling but mostly when the idle drops so low the car wants to stall. What rpm are you getting this shaking at? If its over 500 then I dont think it would be the stepper. Having said that I've never had a stepper motor problem so I can't say for sure.

Does it start hard?
Does it shake at high speed?
Does your transmission change gears smoothly?
Does the car redline?

The shaking is more pronounced under load???

If you your torque covertor is in the process of ripping itself to pieces. Better save the pennies.

Mine idles at 700 PRM but it vibrates when it sits idling, I just took it as all that latent power wanting to get going

However it does go away once it gets going.
